Dog Fouling Act

Dogs are welcome in the Lee Valley Regional Park and we encourage all dog owners to clear up after their pets. In order to maintain a safe and dog-mess free Regional Park for the enjoyment of all here are some simple guidelines to follow:

ALWAYS
Pick up faeces deposited by your dog
Observe the dogs on leads regulations

NEVER
Let your dog be out alone
Annoy any other person in the Regional Park
Disturb the wildlife
Enter the water
The Dogs (Fouling of Land) Act 1996 states that it is an offence for a person in charge of a dog to fail to remove the faeces if the dog defecates. An on the spot fine of £50 can be issued which must be paid within 14 days to prevent further action. A court prosecution may bring about a fine of up to £1,000. Lee Valley Regional Park Authority has provided dog waste bins around the Regional Park to help with disposal. Disposable bags are available from the Lee Valley Regional Park Information Service or from the Park Rangers.
