Lee Valley organises Games volunteers
Volunteers from across east London will gather close to Olympic Park next month to take part in the latest clear up organised by Lee Valley Regional Park Authority as part of its involvement in the London 2012 Changing Places Programme. This is the fourth volunteer activity the Authority has helped organise and will involve the clearance of graffiti, litter clearance and cutting back of overgrown bushes on paths. The Olympic Park is set in an area of London that suffers disproportionately from vandalism, litter and graffiti. The London 2012 Changing Places Programme aims to get communities living around Olympic Park to become involved in improving their public spaces and enhancing the quality of their local environment. The Authority is heavily involved in the programme, contributing financially, sitting on the management group while playing a key role in organising volunteer activities.
