Lee Valley White Water Centre
In partnership with British Canoeing, the Lee Valley Sports Development Team has produced a 5 year Paddlesport Legacy Plan to maximise the opportunities available at the world class Lee Valley White Water Centre. The centre was the first and only purpose built London 2012 venue to open to the public before hosting the Olympic Canoe Slalom competition, and was the first venue to re-open to the public, just 3 weeks after the Olympics.
Extensive programmes have been created and developed to ensure that paddlers from grassroots participation through to elite athletes are supported. Programmes incorporate club development, coach education, targeted activity, performance pathways and events.
Supporting national initiatives such as Go Paddling, the Lee Valley White Water Centre not only brings world class white water to London, Hertfordshire and Essex, but also a tangible Legacy from the London 2012 Games to a huge regional audience.
