Wheelchair Tennis

In partnership with Lawn Tennis Association and Tennis Foundation the Lee Valley Sports Development Team are producing a Tennis Sports Development Plan to maximise the opportunities available at the world class Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre. The addition of two international standard hockey pitches and 'hockey bowl' to the Paralympic wheelchair tennis courts, provides an amazing opportunity for legacy development across tennis and hockey.

To support tennis players from participation level through to elite performance, the Sports Development Team have created extensive tennis programmes aimed at club and coach development, participation, targeted activity, performance pathways and events.

The Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre will be a central part of the London wide disability tennis network. Being the lead site in East London, we will deliver a number of disability disciplines and sessions for people new to the sport through to seasoned professionals. Our world class and national events shcedule will ensure players from across London, Hertfordshire and Essex, have the opportunity to play at this world class venue.

An important element for the Sports Development Team is to support national tenns initiatives, using them to enhance the offer available, encouraging more people to participate in recreational tennis and be more active, these will include Cardio Tennis, paddle tennis, drop in sessions, mini tennis and much more.
