Our sports development team aim to provide sport and leisure activities for all ages, tastes and abilities.
Our experienced and enthusiastic sports development team deliver sports activities across our sites and we're an increasingly significant and successful part of school sport and P.E.
As well as contributing to the schools Sport and PE curriculum we additionally offer opportunities to deliver the ‘5 hour offer’ being developed nationally for youngsters. Plus, we develop creative programmes that can deliver numerous other parts of the school curriculum beyond the core PE requirements and a range of broader life skills through sport and physical activity.

In September 2011, LOCOG is launching a major new strand of its education programme – Get Set goes global. Get Set goes global is designed to celebrate the fact that sport, and especially the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, bring the world together and that, in 2012, the UK will welcome the world to our towns, cities and communities. Get Set goes global will help by encouraging young people in the UK to:
- Celebrate the sports, athletes and cultures of the countries of the world
- Learn from and work with young people all around the world;
- Help to welcome the athletes, media and spectators of the world to the UK in 2012.
More information will be available through regular Get Set communications and on the Get Set website in September. Get Set network members will receive the most exciting opportunities and resources including the chance to link with a school in a foreign country or to showcase some of their work (including films and photography) in the Olympic Park. Get Set goes global is launched in September 2011 so schools need to make sure they are part of the network!
