Stock Pit

In 2008 the Fisheries Section embarked on a similar project to the adjacent Banjo Lake with Stock Pit.

The Fisheries Task Force completed a range of work including tree pollarding, the creation of habitat piles, two major Siltex applications and the rebuilding of eight double swims and a boardwalk that links them together including two swims that are suitable for use by anglers with disabilities.

At just under two acres in size, this picturesque and mature gravel pit is now open as a Day-Night ticket fishery integral to the Lee Valley Regional Parks portfolio of venues for anglers.

The Lake’s stock of approximately 20 original 20-30lb+ Carp have been complemented by 44 fast growing Fishers Pond strain Mirrors up to 21lb in weight, these will be followed shortly by 26 Scaley mirrors from the Fisheries Carp Rearing facility of averaging approximately 10lbs in weight.
