The Lee Valley Regional Park will be home to the Olympic White Water Canoe Slalom course. This will be the only brand new facility being built for the Games outside the Lower Lee Valley.
A temporary spectator arena will provide excellent views of the events and there will be supporting infrastructure for the legacy facility including changing areas, teaching rooms and catering and retail areas for the 2012 Olympic white water canoeing events.
The Authority is working in conjunction with the Olympic Development Authority (ODA), London Organising Committee of the Olympic
Games (LOGOC), East of England Development Agency (EEDA), the British Canoe Union (BCU), Broxbourne Borough Council and Sport England to drive forward this exciting project.
In legacy terms the Authority has committed to fund and operate the facility following the Games. The British Canoe Union has identified the need for additional canoeing facilities in the UK and it is anticipated that this site will become the Regional Centre for London and the South East.
