Volunteer of the Year Award 2008
It’s now time to submit your nominations for the 2008 Lee Valley Regional Park Authority Volunteer of the Year Awards
At present we have around 350 volunteers who last year contributed over 13400 hours of their time to help make the Lee Valley Park a wonderful venue for open space, conservation and sporting activities. They are a fantastic asset to the Regional Park and we are keen to acknowledge the valuable work that they do.
Nomination Categories
Lee Valley Park Registered Volunteers
There are three sectional categories and the winners of these categories will be put forward for the overall Lee Valley Regional Park Volunteer of the Year Award. The categories are:
Conservation and Wildlife
For example volunteers from the following (and other areas):
- o Survey
- o Practical conservation
- o Information
Sports Development
For example volunteers from the following (and other areas):
- o Athletics Centre
- o Ice Centre
- o Golf – Pickets Lock & Waterworks
- o Riding Centre
Leisure
For example volunteers from the following (and other areas):
- o Fisheries
- o Myddelton House Gardens
- o Waterworks
- o Farms
The winners will receive a small medal and certificate.
LVRPA Club Affiliation Scheme Volunteers
In 2008 we introduced an additional award for volunteers of affiliated clubs and groups who use Lee Valley Park Land and facilities.
Club members, volunteers and LVRPA staff can make nominations for people who should be considered for the award. Nominations should be made to the volunteer manager on the nomination form.
There will be one award and the winner will receive a small medal and certificate.
Criteria for nominating Volunteers
The criteria for application can be found on the nomination form with further informaiton on how to nominate people.
Who can nominate?
Individual volunteers, supervisors, managers or club members can make nominations for people who should be considered for the award. Self nominations can not be accepted. Nominations should be made to the Volunteer manager on a nominations form.
