An ideal holiday centre for those who want to mix the pleasures of the countryside with the excitement of visiting central London.
 

Enjoy the best of both worlds at the Lee Valley Campsite, Sewardstone. The campsite is near to the 1,000 acre River Lee Country Park, where you can enjoy boating, picturesque cycling and walking routes and some of Britain’s rarest wildlife. Also nearby is Epping Forest and the historic town of Waltham Abbey with its Abbey ruins and gardens.
 
Central London is less than 40 minutes away. A regular bus service takes you to Walthamstow Central Underground Station from which a frequent service takes you right into the centre of London. Travel cards are available so shopping and sightseeing couldn’t be easier.
 
Please note: Sewardstone campsite is outside of the Low Emission Zone (LEZ). Please check the Transport for London website if you are planning a trip into London with a heavy vehicle. 

Facilities

  • Eight two person cocoons - cosy little cabins complete with two camp beds, heating and lighting and at £35 per night they are an affordable alternative to camping.
  • Nine four person woodland cabins - complete with sofa bed, bunk beds, electric sockets, lighting, curtains and kettle - just £45 per night.
  • Two tent fields, coach parties accepted by arrangement.
  • Nine tent pitches with electric hook up.
  • 65 hardstanding pitches with electric and awning space.
  • Caravan and motorhome service points.
  • All bays at least 7m long with 10 bays that are extra long (approx 15m).
  • Nine dual pitches – which accept vans with doors on either side.
  • Three dual pitches for continental caravans.
  • Fully equipped licensed on-site shop.
  • Two toilet/shower blocks.
  • Covered washing up facilities and full laundry.
  • Children’s play area.
  • Dogs are permitted on site provided they are kept on a lead and not left unattended. Dogs are not allowed in any of the site buildings, includes the cocoons and woodland cabins.
  • Secured site with barrier system.

 

Accessibility

The campsite has good wheelchair access and also exclusive use of fully DDA compliant bathroom facilities.

By car: The campsite is on the A112 between Chingford and Waltham Abbey to the South of the M25. Leave M25 at junction 26 and follow signs.

By bus: No.215, 379 & 505 services from Chingford.
Underground Station: Walthamstow Central.
 
By underground: take the Victoria underground line from London going north .the underground stops at Walthamstow central. From here, catch the 215 bus.
