Horseball in action
Lee Valley Regional Park Authority is joining the UK-wide countdown to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games with six events across the London 2012 Open Weekend, ranging from an international Horseball competition to a guided cycle ride, digital photography course and a volunteering opportunity in a host borough.
Running across Friday 23, Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 July 2010, the Open Weekend, supported by BP, includes a series of sporting, arts and cultural challenges across the UK to lead us into the two year countdown celebration to the start of the London 2012 Games on 27 July 2010.
Lee Valley Regional Park Authority is a key player in the London 2012 Games and will own and manage four Olympic venues in legacy, including the Lee Valley White Water Centre (just north of the M25 near Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire) and the VeloPark and Hockey and Tennis Centres on the Olympic Park. The Authority is working with partners and sports bodies to develop legacy programmes that ensure each of these venues can be enjoyed by everyone from local clubs to school children, elite athletes to complete beginners, from the local community and the region.
The London 2012 Open Weekend enables everyone across the UK to share in the excitement of the 2012 Games by challenging themselves to try something new. Lee Valley Regional Park will host six varied events, with something for everyone:
