Spring is nearly upon us (snow allowing!) and Lee Valley Regional Park is hosting a variety of fun-filled events and activities in March 2010. Here we bring you the best of the best to give you a marvellous March!
Each event is located in the 10,000 acre award-winning Regional Park which winds its way 26 miles along the banks of the River Lee in Hertfordshire, down through Essex and North London to the East India Dock Basin on the River Thames.
Our Monthly Guided Walk in River Lee Country Park; (Sunday 7th March, 10.30- 12.30, free, suitable for everyone)
Join us for our leisurely paced walk in the 1,000 acre River Lee Country Park., enjoying the scenery and diverse wildlife. Start the walk at Fishers Green Car Park, Stubbins Hall Lane, Waltham Abbey, Essex EN9 2EF. Contact 08456 770 600 for further information
Brilliant Birds at Lee Valley Park Farms (Saturday 13 March, 10.00 - 17.00 admission prices apply, suitable for the whole family, especially children)

Solo Skate Competition at Lee Valley Ice Centre (Saturday 13 March, 09.00 – 18.00, free for spectators)
Come and marvel at the skating skills of the best of British skaters in this National Open Competition.

Wonderful Winter Wetlands Walk, Walthamstow Marshes, (Sunday 21st March) 0800-10.30,

Pedal it Pink Charity Cycle Ride in River Lee Country Park, (Sunday 28 March) from 11.00, from £5 - £15
Help beat breast cancer by taking part in Pedal it Pink, a fantastic women’s cycling challenge with Breast Cancer Campaign. Ladies, you can choose to cycle a marathon or a half marathon around the beautiful River Lee Country Park and raise money to fund innovative world-class research. Lee Valley Regional Park stretches 26 miles along the River Lee from Ware in Hertfordshire to East India Dock Basin on the Thames. The Park’s 26 miles comprise a diverse mix of heritage sites, nature reserves and open green spaces alongside world class sports facilities; we attract over 4 million visitors every year.
Lee Valley Regional Park is playing an active part in the London 2012 Games. The new White Water Canoe Centre (just north of the M25 between Waltham Abbey and Waltham Cross) and the VeloPark and Hockey and Tennis Centres in Olympic Park will be owned, managed and funded by Lee Valley Regional Park in legacy. They join our existing sports facilities which include Lee Valley’s Athletics Centre, Riding Centre and Ice Centre to create a chain of sporting excellence across the region.
