Christmas has finished and the New Year has been and gone and love it or hate it, Valentines Day is just round the corner. If your partner grumbles that you aren’t ‘thoughtful’ or ‘original’ on Valentines Day then take heart, and see what takes your fancy!

 

  1. Valentines Day Skate at Lee Valley Ice Centre. Treat your loved one to a skate across the ice in our romantically themed sessions guaranteed to melt your heart. With music and dancing and laughter, what more could your partner want? Sessions at 2pm and 8.30pm on Sunday 14th February.
  2. Saddle up and take to the hills for a private horse ride at Lee Valley Riding Centre. Set in the heart of East London, the Riding Centre offers a range of horses you and your partner can enjoy. With 45 horses and ponies to choose from you can ride cobs, thoroughbreds and Welsh ponies that are suitable for riders of all abilities, from beginners to advanced riders.
  3. Stroll hand in hand across these fantastic estate gardens to explore the beautiful 4-acres surrounding Myddelton House, the former home to the Parker-Bowles family. The gardens include an original conservatory, rose garden, pergola garden, wisteria bridge and fabulous pond and terrace.
  4. Bring out your partner’s animal instinct and adopt an animal at one of Lee Valley Park’s Farms - from sheep and pygmy goats to tortoises and ducks, you can adopt a host of our animals from our rare breeds and exotic creatures right down to our chickens.
  5. An urban oasis located just a few miles from central London, your partners heart will be all a-flutter with a ramble through the Middlesex Filter beds and the Waterworks Nature Reserve when you take them out to spot this beautiful range of rare birds and butterflies.
  6. Do something different and put your partner through their paces with a work out at Lee Valley Athletics Centre; from hurdles and sprints to pole vault and javelin, your hearts will certainly get a good work out!
  7. Build on your love with a visit to historic Rye House Gatehouse and let your imagination run wild at one of the finest medieval moated sites in Hertfordshire.
  8. The perfect excuse to tell your partner to get ‘On yer bike!’ and the most fun you can have together on two wheels, try just one of the 40 routes we offer as walking or cycling across the Park.
  9. A feast for the eyes and good for the romantic soul, visit the Lee Valley Boat Centre and hire a passenger boat, a rowing boat, an electric boat or a pedalo to treat your loved one to a romantic, peaceful ride along the wonderful River Lee.
  10. Put a bit of swing into your relationship with a golfing session at the Waterworks Golf Centre. How can your partner failed to be impressed by your competitive streak?

About Lee Valley Regional Park Authority

Lee Valley Regional Park stretches 26 miles along the course of the River Lee from Ware in Hertfordshire to East India Dock Basin on the Thames. The Park’s 10,000 acres comprises a mix of heritage sites, nature reserves and open green spaces as well as sports centres.

 

Lee Valley Regional Park Authority will own, manage and fund the Olympic 2012 White Water Canoe Centre in Broxbourne, plus the VeloPark and Eton Manor venues on Olympic Park in legacy. They will join the other regional sports venues the Authority owns to create a chain of sporting excellence along the 26 mile long Lee Valley Regional Park.
