The opportunity
The award-winning Lee Valley Regional Park stretches an incredible 26 miles along the leafy banks of the River Lee, from Ware in Hertfordshire, through Essex, to the Thames at East India Dock Basin. Whether it's white water rafting, athletics, golf, horse riding, ice skating, fishing, cycling, bird watching, camping or simply exploring the countryside, Lee Valley Regional Park is a hidden gem just waiting to be discovered.
The challenge
Following on from the superb London 2012 Olympic Games comes the chance to maximise income and create more business opportunities across all our Venues and Parklands which include 4 fantastic Olympic sites: Lee Valley White Water Centre, VeloPark, Tennis Centre and Hockey Centre, not to mention heritage sites, nature reserves and farms!
We are already running some of the best sports and leisure venues in the country and now need a creative and inspirational individual with bags of enthusiasm to carry us forward and tap into new revenue streams to maintain our position as top class visitor and sporting attraction. Ensuring all projects are viable and financially sound, you'll work closely with senior venue staff to not only discover new business opportunities, but also find alternative ways of delivering top quality experiences to our customers, as well as enhancing our existing range of services.
What we need from you
Fresh, inspiring ideas and the ability to make them become a reality. You should have a natural entrepreneurial flair, plenty of business acumen and commercial nous. Optimistic, realistic and resourceful in a fiercely competitive marketplace, you will also possess first class project management, influencing and negotiating skills as well a proven track record of increasing income generation across a range of operational venues/sites.
We don’t mind where you are currently working, but an understanding of the public and leisure sectors are an advantage.
