Marina Manager - Springfield

Join us to be head of the team at our busy London marina. 

Full time, permanent 35 hours per week


Lee Valley Regional Park Authority is responsible for 26 miles of world class sports and leisure venues - including three London 2012 legacy venues which are open for everyone to enjoy – and thousands of acres of glorious open space. We stretch from the Thames through Essex to Hertfordshire and attract over eight million visits a year through everything from major international televised sports tournaments to volunteer-led walks to school trips to visits to open spaces.


We are looking for a motivated and ambitious individual to manage and lead our team at Lee Valley Marina, Springfield in Leyton, East London. Springfield is one of two marinas we have and part of the 26 mile long Lee Valley Regional Park.


Sited on the lower reaches of the River in East London, the marina has 200 berths. Our marina provides all marina services including moorings, boat repairs, boat craning and a well-stocked chandlery.


Your role will be to manage and develop the marina in line with the Authority’s Business Plan keeping abreast of trends, changes and competition within the Marina industry.

To be considered for this Marina Manager position, you will need:

  • Demonstrable experience of working in a similar environment at Management level

  • Operational experience with an aptitude to new challenges

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong attention to detail

  • Effective relationship building and the ability to establish rapport and influence others

  • Previous management experience with the ability to identify and engage with key groups including employees, partner organisations and customers

  • Experience of using social media effectively in a professional communications context

  • Health & Safety knowledge and experience


The ideal candidate should have previous managerial and operational experience as well as a keen interest in Marinas. We are looking for a hands-on leader who will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running, with full accountability for the performance of the site. Leading from the front, demonstrating brilliant customer service to develop loyalty and handling any customer concerns. 


You will be expected to bring fresh, new and exciting ideas to deliver growth for the business.
