Our sports venue management partner

 

Greenwich Leisure Ltd - management partner for Lee Valley Regional Park Authority’s world class sporting venues

From 1 April 2022 we are partnering with GLL, which is a charitable social enterprise, who will manage our six largest sports venues. The contract will run for 10 years.

​

Thee venues that are operated by GLL – who trade as Better – are our three London 2012 legacy venues: Lee Valley VeloPark and Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and Lee Valley White Water Centre in Hertfordshire, plus Lee Valley Athletics Centre, Lee Valley Riding Centre and the new Lee Valley Ice Centre which is under construction and will open later in 2022.

The 10-year partnership with GLL will leverage their wealth of experience managing elite sporting venues and a vast array of community sports and leisure venues. The carefully constructed partnership ensures that the venues will continue to offer their diverse activities programmes, be community hubs providing accessible sport for all as well as continuing to host international and national events.

The venues will still be owned by Lee Valley Regional Park Authority which will continue to have a strong input to them. They remain part of the Lee Valley visitor experience and will continue to be so with some of the best facilities and most inspiring settings to be found anywhere. As part of the partnership Lee Valley Regional Park Authority will continue to invest to ensure that they go from strength to strength, delivering real impact for communities.

 

The partnership will also see further developments to maximise participation with a focus on improving the quality of life for communities across the region.
