LVRPA Board members at the new bird hide at St Paul's Field

Board members visit park improvement projects

Release date:

10 June 2026

Viewing the restoration of the rock garden at Myddelton House Gardens began a day of park improvement project visits for members of our board in June.

This was followed by a trip to Lee Valley Marina, Stanstead Abbotts to see the new crane that is providing a reliable service to lift boats in and out of the water.

At Fishers Green, they viewed the new Tern rafts on Seventy Acres lake and saw the major National Grid upgrade work underway at the Waltham Cross sub-station that will increase capacity for energy storage as part of the North London Reinforcement Project.

Final stop on the tour was a walk along the recently opened St Paul’s Field footpath in River Lee Country Park. Completing one of our key business plan landscape improvement projects, this 2km path has opened up a new area of the park for visitors, providing glorious lake views, plenty of seating areas and a bird hide.
