If you’re looking for inspiration on what to do this May half term, Lee Valley Regional Park offers a variety of wonderful outdoor spaces and nature reserves where children and their families can roam free and explore the wildlife for free.

BMX THRILLS AND MTB SKILLS (£28 per rider)


When: Wednesday 2 June

What: Get out and enjoy the fresh air with this high octane day exploring Lee Valley VeloPark’s miles of mountain bike trails and BMX track. Aimed at children aged between 7 - 11 years old, this course teaches riders new techniques and skills to master these two exhilarating cycling disciplines.

TRACK ATTACK (£20 per rider)

When: Thursday 3 June

What: This one day course allows teenagers aged between 12 – 16 years old to follow in the tyre tracks of Laura Kenny and Sir Chris Hoy by riding the same Velodrome track made famous during the London 2012 Olympic Games. During the session, fully qualified coaches will teach them the skills and techniques required to ride a fixed wheel bike confidently on the infamous 42 degree banked track. An experience not to be missed!

RAFTING UNLEASHED (£50 per person)

When: Wednesday 2 – Sunday 6 June

What: Grab a group of friends and take on the mighty drops of our Olympic standard white water course. Suitable for those aged 12 and above, rafters will brace the cold as they harness the power of the water to speed down the course’s rapids like a rollercoaster ride.

HOT DOGS (£100 per Hot Dog)

When: Thursday 3 June

What: Jump in our inflatable two person kayaks and tackle the white water rapids as a duo. Perfect for those 12 and over, you’ll feel every wave of the rapids as you plunge into the drops of our Legacy Loop and paddle your way down the course.

WILDLIFE DISCOVERY CENTRE (FREE)

When: Monday – Sunday 10.30 – 15:00

What: Come and visit our new Wildlife Discovery Centre in River Lee Country Park. Learn about the habitats and species around you as well as visiting birds in the discovery room or climb our tower and enjoy the amazing view over Seventy Acres Lake and the living roof which will be bursting with flora and fauna.
