Myddelton House Gardens


Myddelton House Gardens has plenty to raise your Christmas spirit. This eight-acre historical gem at Bulls Cross in Enfield will be spreading Christmas cheer to visitors in the coming weeks.


Wreath Making


Tis the season to bring botanical beauty to your front door!


Myddelton House Gardens Head Gardener Julia Bigham will be hosting her popular wreath making workshops for a second year, so if you’d like a personally crafted decoration for your front door, then sign up for one of four special sessions on 28/29 November and 5/6 December.

Is That a Christmas Tree Trail


From 1 – 23 December fresh air and adventure awaits in Myddelton House Gardens with our special Is That a Christmas Tree Trail. Pick up a trail map at the Bowles Tea Room and go on a search for our festive tree…learning about many other trees in the gardens on the way!


The trail ends at our special Christmas Tree, where you can place your very own Christmas wish on its branches.

Afternoon Tea

On Saturday 20 December there’s a rare opportunity to dine in the elegant Exhibition Room of Myddelton House, home to the gardens creator Edward Augustus Bowles. Get together with friends or family and enjoy a sumptuous Afternoon Tea to kick off the festive season. Find out more and book here.

Lee Valley Ice Centre

Festive skating


Get ready to lace up your skates and enjoy a festive treat at Lee Valley Ice Centre, where Christmas cheer glides onto the ice from 1 December to 5 January!


Step into a winter wonderland as the rink transforms for the holidays, complete with a sparkling Christmas tree, shimmering decorations, magical snowfall lighting and your favourite Christmas classics playing in the background.

Festive breaks


Take your pick from three campsites in Lee Valley Regional Park, each offering a cosy festive break with nature on your doorstep.


Lee Valley Campsite, Sewardstone


This woodland site is located within the countryside on the outskirts of Chingford, east London. It’s teaming with wildlife and perfectly positioned for walking and cycling in the great outdoors, with Gunpowder Park and the River Lee on the doorstep.


Despite being nestled in nature, central London’s festive lights and seasonal ice rinks are easily reached thanks to excellent public transport links.

Lee Valley Caravan Park, Dobbs Weir


Wake up to the sound of nature in this quiet and secluded spot, situated on the borders of Hertfordshire and Essex. With the river running down one side of the site, Lee Valley Caravan Park Dobbs Weir is ideally situated for riverside walks.

Winter Adventure


Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is counting down to the festive season with a brand new Winter Adventure  From 1- 24 December a new ‘door’ will open daily at 6pm to reveal a completely free activity being offered at a venue in the park. These include great opportunities to try out cycling at Lee Valley VeloPark and Tennis at Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre for free.
