Lee Valley White Water Centre accredited as UK Sport Elite Training Centre

The accreditation highlights the organisation’s contribution to providing world-class daily training environments, bringing together high-quality facilities, expert practitioners, and a strong performance culture to support athletes and coaches.

As part of the UK Sport network of Elite Training Centres, Lee Valley White Water Centre will work collaboratively with centres across the UK to support a connected and high-performing system, enabling athletes to access the environments and expertise they need to succeed. To achieve UK Sport accreditation, centres must demonstrate excellence across areas including facilities, people, partnerships and athlete support, alongside a clear commitment to continuous improvement.

This network of centres plays a vital role in the UK’s high performance system, creating environments that bring together people, expertise and facilities to drive performance and support sustained Olympic and Paralympic success.

Opened in 2011, this iconic London 2012 legacy venue offers everyone the chance to get on the water whether you want raging white water rapids or the calmer lake environment.

Lee Valley White Water Centre offers a whole host of different activities from white water rafting, kayaking and canoeing, Hydrospeeding to Hot Dog kayaking and paddleboarding as well as Water Wipeout our inflatable obstacle course on the lake.

It's also home to Paddle UK athletes and Olympians such as Joe Clarke, Kimberley Woods, Adam Burgess and Mallory Franklin, who train at the centre.

The centre’s day-to-day operations are run on behalf of Lee Valley Regional Park Authority by charitable foundation, GLL. Simon Hemming, GLL Community Sports Manager at Lee Valley venues, said: “We're incredibly proud to be accredited as a UK Sport Elite Training Centre.
